Dear Readers,
My name is Klaus Baudelaire. I am thirteen. I have two sisters; Violet, age fifteen years, is one of the greatest inventors in the world. Sunny, age three, is an excellent chef. We lost our parents when our mansion burned down, and ever since, Count Olaf has been trying to steal our fortune. We have gone from guardian to guardian, since they either die or abandon us. Over the next year, I will unravel our unfortunate tale (in short.)
